The condensed Irish Wolfhound Association of the Mid South Newsletter
FALL GATHERING Don't forget to mark your calendars. IWAMS is having another Fall Gathering this November 1st. It will be at the same location as the last two year, the Durham Kennel Club building in North Carolina. The day should be busy. There will be games, mini-lectures, lunch and a business meeting. Dot Arn (Arntara), will speak on the role of conformation showing in the enhancement of our breed. We will ponder the question, "Why bother showing?" Dot is a past president of the Irish Wolfhound Club of America and currently a member of the club's board of directors. She is a breeder judge whose assignments included the 2000 national specialty. She has bred and shown some very special IWs who were not only champions, specialty class winners, and BIS hounds, but respected by a very diverse group of Wolfhound breeders and kennels as being splendid examples of the breed. Much more information to follow!!!!! Volunteers will also be needed during the day. Joe Pitt jcpitt@vt.edu would love to hear ASAP from volunteers particularly those who could assist with games and other functions at the gathering.
