Tamarca Hollow, A Nature Retreat Near Marion, North Carolina

There is always something to draw you to the mountains of Western North Carolina. During the spring when the rhododendrons are in bloom you can wake each morning the smell of Carolina Allspice and the male Towhee reminding you to "Drink your tea". Or come in the fall when the trees change their summer greens for their fall coat of colors. The air is crisp and the bite of winter in the air makes for pleasant days hiking and cozy evenings around the hearth with a cocoa or a glass of local red wine. Tamarca Hollow offers a glimpse into life in the mountains. This private nature retreat is perfect for rewinding, regrouping and reconnecting with loved ones.

Continental breakfast items are available, and all the fixin's to make s'mores outside in the firepit.  The Housers do ask each guest to respect the land as we are all guests on planet earth and they take great care and pride living in the forest. The property is a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the US Wildlife Service.  Everyone needs to be alert in the woods for wildlife such as bear, deer, skunks, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, spiders, honey bees, a variety of birds, and snakes (venomous and non-venomous) share the space. The unit also has a metal roof....there's nothing like the sound of rain at night on a metal roof....with the frogs and crickets singing along to the rhythm of the rain!

There are a number of Vineyards, Wineries, and Breweries in the area along with some fabulous restaurants and a variety of delicious foods to try!  The property is within an hour of Asheville and other historic mountain communities like Marion, Black Mountain, Boone and Banner Elk, also nearby South Mountain State Park with an 80 foot waterfall!"  Donated by Marc and Tamara Houser.

Visit Savannah

bonaventure-cemtery-savannah-ga.jpg

Have you ever imagined waking on a warm spring morning to the smell of jasmine drifting in and the sound of a light breeze blowing through the leaves of the live oak trees? Do you dream about walking through fragrant gardens with Spanish moss draped overhead and the music of Savannah's many fountains playing for you as you stroll the city's antebellum streets? Savannah is a city of history, with the largest historical district in the U.S. It is bursting at the seams with gardens, fountains, cemeteries and ghosts. Walk the same streets

where the civil war was fought. A city so lovely that even Sherman couldn't bring himself to burn it on his

march to the sea. Even if you don't win the grand prize trip to Ireland you can still travel back in time while visiting beautiful, historical Savannah. Caitlin Condon has donated two nights in the Orchid Cottage, a small Victorian guest house behind her main house in Savannah. Orchid Cottage is located right off Forsyth Park, one of the most famous squares in Savannah. And after you spend the day visiting the many museums, gardens, fountains and plantations you can relax in the garden of Orchid Cottage with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, until you've recovered enough to enjoy all Savannah has to offer at night. This is a full guest house you'll have to yourself, enchanting and inviting. It's just waiting for you to come and experience the best the south has to

offer. So come for a weekend and make memories to last a lifetime.
